only us

So as you know from a previous post, my hubby and I adopted a very sweet and cute Siberian husky approximately 2 months ago. What you don't know is that our pup was pregnant when we adopted her. Don't feel bad, we didn't know either. We figured it out and took her to the vet who verified that she was, in fact, already preggers when we brought her home. Four days later, puppies were born. Now, I have no children of my own, but I have to say that I was hoping to never have to be on that end of the delivery process. Some people feel that's it special and beautiful. That's nice. I am not one of those people. It was stressful and long. It began at 4:30 a.m. enough said.

So now, three weeks later, we have 6 dogs. I just wanted one. Really. But we are in the process of finding homes for these pups, once they're ready. They really are sweet and very humorous. There were actually 6 puppies born that morning, but one little guy didn't make it. Another little puppy needed stitches in his back leg because his momma attempted to pull him out a bit and in doing so, ripped the skin on his leg. We had to keep him seperated from her while the stitches were still in so that she wouldn't try to pull them out. Because he was kept seperate, we had to make sure he got to eat every 2 hours. Meaning, we were up in the middle of the night sitting with all the doggies so "stitch" could eat. The stitches are out now, so he's back with everyone.

It's been quite the experience. I guess we actually saved 6 lives that day we drove to W.V.

Wow, what an ordeal! I would love to get a puppy - so would my kids - but I don't know if I could talk Casey into it.

When will they be ready to move? And will you let me know whether you still need a home for any?
